ADDITIONAL US ACOUSTIC GIG - STRAND LAKEWOOD NJ
===============================================

Not confirmed at the time of the last Strawbswebnews: one of my favourite US gigs for the band - Ray Coles writes:

"I am happy to announce we have just received confirmation that the Strawbs will be back at Strand Theater in Lakewood, NJ on Saturday, September 8th at 8:00PM. There will be no opener for this show so we will have 2 full sets from the boys. Tickets should be on sale now and are available at www.strand.org. This will be another of our "Backstage Pass" shows, where the audience and the band share the stage, so we are limited to just 160 general admission tickets. The previous Strawbs Backstage Pass shows sold out well in advance, so book early to avoid disappointment!"

I've travelled over for one of these and they really are a delight.

You Can't Keep Him From Singing
-------------------------------

Owing to renewed interest in John Ford's song, "You Can't Keep Me From Singing," used by Bank of America for television, cable commercials and online adverstisement -- which they DENY is his song - John has issued a new video for the song.

Discovered by Strawbs'fan Jon Buryk, and verified on Witchwood by Ken Stasion, John thanks them for bring to our attention! Check out the recently refurbished website:

Home Service
------------
Roy writes:

"I've had a glut of emails (two) complaining that my 2012 World Tour is largely confined to Kent, Kingston upon Thames and, occasionally, Dorset. Some people have even suggested it isn't really a world tour. Those people are vermin. I appreciate it must be vexing if you want to see me perform and don't live in Kent, Kingston upon Thames or Dorset but I can only play where I'm asked to play.

Anyway, I've come up with a scheme, the ROY HILL HOME SERVICE or RHHS for short. It couldn't be simpler, you get some friends round, I come to your home and play an unplugged set for a laughably reasonable fee. Bingo! Obviously, if you live in Biarritz or Brisbane, travel costs may be a deal breaker.
