THE ROCK, KOBENHAVN, DENMARK, WEDNESDAY 27 APRIL 2005
Saw Strawbs last night - I was one of the 30-40 people watching them at the Rock! It's a pity and a shame and quite embarrasing that so few people attended the concert (I blame it on missing promotion). Nevertheless it was great !!! My first meeting with the Strawbs. I hope not the last!!

HASLEV VISE VERS KLUB, HASLEV, DENMARK, FRIDAY 29 APRIL 2005
I hoped the gig at The Rock wouldn't be my last experience with The Strawbs. It shouldn't be - because I drove to Haslev yesterday to see the show again - this time bringing my wife with me.
And what a pleasant surprise for both of us ! For my wife - that some of all this "strange music" I am hearing not at all was that strange!! She enjoyed it as much as I did. And it was good to see that the promotion had been MUCH better in the little town of Haslev. The meeting- (conference-?) room at the public library was filled - my guess is that there were 120 people attending the concert. And the guys delivered another good performance and a few songs more than in Copenhagen. They didn't seem to be disappointed at Copenhagen - they delivered an excellent show there too, but inevitably they were more generous and eager to play at Haslev with this satisfying size of the audience.
I carefully wrote down the setlist at Haslev (see Setlist box, right) - it resembled that in Copenhagen but I cannot totally reconstruct the Copenhagen setlist.
MAANEN, HADERSLEV, DENMARK, SATURDAY 30 APRIL 2005
On April 30 I went off on my Triumph motor bike to visit the Acoustic Strawbs in Haderslev (Manen) Denmark.
After 550 km and approx. 6 hours I arrived in Haderslev. The hall was already open and as I walked in I met the owner of the hall (Erik Kock), who would find a place for me to sleep. And as we walked out, the lads came in . All the 5 of us shook hands, had a nice chat about my bike and so on.
As we talked and I told them that I had come all the way from Holland to meet the band they were very surprised. Erik made a phonecall and told me he had a place to sleep for me, a hotel, and I was his guest. (I only had to pay for the drinks). Then at the concert I met a guy from Norway, he was on his way back home, and together with the band we had a time never to forget !!
In total there were about 50 people at the concert. After the concert we went, the 5 of us, the band, the norway man and I, to the hotel where the band stayed for the night. We talked for more than 2 hours and had a few or more beers and a GREAT time. This was really MEET & GREET.
On sunday I went back, another 550 kms. Thanks to all of you
