ROUND AND ROUND/HEROINE'S THEME
A&M, 1974 (US and Italy only)
Back to main 1973-1975 singles page
In the US "Round And Round was chosen as an A-side, backed with "Heroine's Theme", the opening instrumental section of "Autumn", by John Hawken, which had already picked up some airplay on black radio stations, and which may have prompted this release. A copy has emerged which has a datestamp of 13 May 1974 on the "Heroine's Theme" side, which may suggest that the promo was generated to promote that track not the nominal A-side, or that this was originally sent to one of those radio stations.
The single saw a full release in Italy with a picture sleeve.

Datestamped copy. Not certain that the bright yellow cover is contemporaneous - I bought this and the "Lay Down" US mono/stereo promo (also datestamped) and both came with these which I thought were later A&M covers. Nice though ....

A typically nice European picture cover, utilising the dove image from the LP cover.
