As another Strawbs tour kicks off tonight, first here in the UK, then in
the US, there's news about the newly recorded new Strawbs album, The Broken
Hearted Bride and a forthcoming new album from John Ford. Some sad news
too about Mike Gebhardt. And various other snippets.

Mike, a true friend of the band, passed away on 13 May. There's a page on

UK ELECTRIC TOUR STARTS TONIGHT - 21 MAY

Strawbs' latest electric tour kicks off tonight in Sheffield. Expect to
hear a couple of new songs from the new album.

THE BROKEN HEARTED BRIDE - EARLY BIRD OFFER - END 1 JULY

Seems odd to be thinking Yuletide thuoghts in May, but here's advance
notice of the Christmas party daet - Saturday 6 December, once again at the
NPL in Teddington.

JOHN FORD NEWS
==============
John has completed 14 tracks an all original new album, to be entitled Big
Hit In India with the title song 'Big Hit In India' and a second, 'Paper
Trail' now available for download at either his MySpace or website.
The album Likely to be released via download and as a physical CD. Cover
art coming soon to Strawbsweb. Also a 'Big Hit In India' music video is in
the works :)
The Resurrection project (the previously announced retrospective, with a
couple of new tracks) is on hold for now - looks like John got carried away
and recorded 14 instead of 2 !
All John Ford songs - old and new - are to be made available for single
downloads.
Jon Buryk has uploaded his YouTube video of John Ford doing 'Werewolves of
London' at Cafe CoCo - Halloween Show 2006, on a double bill with Acoustic

WYCHWOOD
========
Acoustic duo Wychwood - longtime Strawbs fan Kevin West on guitars,
percussion and Lyndsay Hemphill on vocals are playing a live show on at the
Jolly Weavers pub, South Bar Street, Banbury on 7th June. Free admission
and the duo will be playing a 90 min set including 'Who Knows' along with
self penned numbers.
Their cover version of "Who Knows Where The Time Goes", which showcases
Lindsay's clear, attractive vocals, can be heard on Strawbsweb's fan
