At last some of the 40th anniversary material reaches the public!
It features the Acoustic Strawbs set, joined for four Sandy Denny-sung numbers, by Sonja Kristina then moves on to the orchestral numbers which closed the show, conducted and arranged by the late and much lamented Robert Kirby, who sadly died only a few weeks after the show.
"Evergreen" gets a tasteful acoustic plus orchestra arrangement, as does "Heavy Disguise" played by John Ford and Dave Lambert (and originally arranged by Kirby for Grave New World).
And the full majesty of Strawbs plus orchestra on "The River"/"Down By The Sea" (which Kirby arranged back in 1972 for Bursting At The Seams) and Dave's most recent anthemic classic "Where Silent Shadows Fall".
