MUSIC MAGAZINES AND ANNUALS

Strawbs had good publicity connections and features on the band found their way into many of the musician-oriented magazines, particularly Beat Instrumental and the prog/rock mags (bothg in the UK/US and Italy), as well as, during their "Part Of The Union"-fuelled teen/glam/pop heyday, in magazines where they shared headlines with the likes of the Osmonds and David Cassidy.

As well as "proper" comic annuals (Beano/Dandy etc.) there were annuals aimed at teens, particularly teen girls - collections of articles, competitions, cartoon strips, meaningless trivia etc. NB. date is the year on the annual, which were published in late autumn of the preceding year - hence a glut of them dated 1974 (which really reflect Strawbs popularity in UK in 1973 - in 1974 they were old news in the teeny bopper market).
