CLASSIC STRAWBS, 1977
Thought for many years to be a Canada only 2LP release - recently, however, a South African copy of this album has also come to light. This selection picked up mainly on the longer, epic tracks which the Canadian market loved - a different and interesting collection.
The cover features a giant strawberry placed within a Stonehenge-like stone circle. Anyone thinking "Spinal Tap", like me? Of course, that film didn't come out till 1984, so the A&M designers were ahead of their time {grin}. Still given its more "gothic" track selection, it's definitely an album you can turn up to 11!
The UK and US markets had their own double LP retro a year later, The Best Of The Strawbs. Such was A&M Canada's love for the Strawbs, they issued that too.
