NEW TIMELINE FEATURE AND GALLERIES ON STRAWBSWEB

As some of you may know, a long while back I did some research at the British Library on the Strawbs with a view maybe to writing a book myself. (To call it research might be a bit high-falutin' - I was allowed to read old copies of Melody Makers, Sounds and NME in lovely surroundings of the then quite new building on Euston Road). Anyhow, the book never happened (maybe one day ...) and when Dave started on his book, I passed over the results of that research to him - a timeline stretching from 1964 onwards. And then Dave discovered that he still had all his old diaries from those days, which also had a wealth of information.
From these two sources, Dave has compiled a composite timeline, the original plan being to include it in the book. However, it became apparent that it would take up an awful lot of space and that inclusion in print wasn't really practical, so we'd publish it online instead on Strawbsweb. I'm delighted to announce the first installment of the timeline, running from 1963 to 1972.
There are some entries for related bands (eg Fire, Velvet Opera) which I've added, and where we know we've added details of other bands/artists playing on the same gig as the Strawbs (or the Strawberry Hill Boys, as the case may be). I've also added a few relevant historical events to add a little bit of context, eg assassination of Martin Luther King. The intention is that we'll add further items that readers can supply - the third column will contain links to photos, setlists, other info. Suggestions for inclusion of material to email@example.com.
Also, a couple of new photo galleries added with old pictures from the 1980 tour with Andy Richards, Tony Fernandez and Brian Willoughby, as well as some pics from Trowbridge Festival in 1987.
